The Institute of Water and Sanitation Development (IWSD)

The Institute of Water and Sanitation Development (IWSD) is a development partner supporting the development and management of water resources, water supply, sanitation and hygiene in the Southern Africa region. The IWSD is registered in Zimbabwe as a private voluntary organization (PVO) as well as a non-governmental technical and vocational training institute.

The IWSD is also registered in South Africa to facilitate the extension of its regional mandate in the Southern Africa region. IWSD's main activities involve capacity development to enhance institutional roles, contribute to an enabling environment, and provide management instruments/tools for sustainable water resources development & management, water supply, sanitation & hygiene. IWSD’s work is based on 5 pillars of action i.e., i) training, ii) research, iii) piloting and demonstration of innovative solutions, iv) information and knowledge management, v) technical and advisory services.
